Self-Care Tips for the Weekend!

Hey there soaring blog friends! we are so glad you're here!

This week, we’re talking about self-care.

According to the Global Self-Care Federation, self-care is about looking after your own health using the knowledge and information you have. It’s a way to take charge of your well-being, working together with health professionals when needed.

In our go-go-go society, we’re expected to always be productive, which can lead to burnout and exhaustion, taking a toll on our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Regular self-care is key to preventing our overall health from deteriorating.

If you’re like me, you look forward to the weekend. Sure, there might be some chores and errands, but you get more freedom to choose how you spend your time. After a tough, long week, self-care becomes essential. It’s time to recharge your body and soul!

For some, squeezing self-care into daily life might be super easy. For others, it’s more of a struggle. Lack of time, feelings of guilt, constant stress, not even realizing self-care is needed, and not having enough support can all make it harder.

Addressing the Challenges

Understanding these hurdles is the first step in overcoming them. Here’s how to make self-care more doable:

Prioritize: Make self-care a must-do, even if it’s just for a few minutes each day.

Change Your Mindset: See self-care as essential, not selfish.

Educate: Learn about the benefits of self-care and the many ways to practice it. There are so many!

Seek Support: Surround yourself with people who cheer on your self-care efforts.

Start Small: Begin with tiny, manageable self-care actions and gradually build up to bigger practices.
