My story

My father’s challenging upbringing, marked by poverty and addiction, caused him to habitually prioritize material success over family. Because of this, I seldom heard words of affirmation or validation as a child. I soon discovered that if I cleaned the entire house, or got straight A’s - I might actually be acknowledged and seen - and maybe even feel loved, if just for a moment. This emphasis on performance continued throughout my teens and 20’s, and into my career. I yearned for validation from bosses and managers, which meant long hours and a disconnection from my true passions. 

In 2016, after a long period of estrangement from my father, a traumatic event caused us to reconcile, restoring our relationship and helping me regain confidence in my unique strengths: patience, empathy, strategic thinking, and faith. My father eventually passed, but my journey was forever changed. I worked hard to break free from the need for validation based solely on my performance, and I learned that my unique gifts and talents are blessings from God, given to me for a specific purpose during my time on this earth. Today, I prioritize understanding everyone's unique purpose and value, not only in my own journey, but also as a leader - making it my top priority for everyone I work with. My greatest joy lies in facilitating discovery, empowering people to use what they’ve learned, and restoring their faith in themselves.
